Lavandula angustifolia (English Lavender) 'hidcote blue' is a low-growing shrub native to the Mediterranean region. The fragrant flowers and foliage make it a favorite for herb gardens and in the perennial border. Will also grow fine in containers, but will need shelter for the winter in pots. This reliable, compact selection has grey-green foliage and dark violet-purple flowers. Prune lightly in early spring, no harder than 4 inches. Lavender MUST have good drainage in order to avoid root rot problems. Consider growing in a raised bed or rock garden. 1 gal
