Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) 'munstead is actually a low-growing shrub, native to the Mediterranean region. The fragrant flowers and foliage make it a favourite for herb gardens and in the perennial border. Will also grow fine in containers, but plants will need shelter for the winter when grown in pots. This reliable, compact selection has grey-green foliage and bright lavender-blue flowers. Prune lightly in early spring, no harder than 4 inches. Lavender MUST have good drainage in order to avoid root rot problems. Consider growing in a raised bed or rock garden. Drought tolerant once established. 1 gal
